Tomorrow is the first day I am scheduled on a unit. We aren't supposed to have any patients. Apparently we have a scavenger hunt to do & we are supposed to familiarize ourselves with the floor. I am nervous... All I keep thinking about is Code 99 (medical emergency) & what that means when I am the coding patient's primary nurse... I guess I am jumping ahead of myself.
I won't get to meet my preceptor until Wednesday, so I guess tomorrow I have a substitute. I always told myself that this next year was going to be the hardest year I have ever lived through. As I embark, I have to say, I am scared to death! But if it is anything like the roller coaster that I've heard it to be, there will be ups & downs, good & bad, and in the end I hope I will surprise myself.
